Pentâge Winery, according to its website, “is a boutique winery nestled on 23 acres overlooking Skaha Lake in Penticton, British Columbia. We limit our annual production to approximately 5,000 cases a year.”

Pentâge Winery Pinot Gris 2018 (Okanagan Valley)
Pale straw colour; minerally, peach pit nose; medium-bodied, dry, white peach, pear, grapefruit and lemon flavours carried on lively acidity. Beautifully balanced and long on the palate. (89)

Pentâge Winery Sauvignon/Semillon 2018
85% Sauvignon/15% Semillon. Light straw colour; a nose of gooseberry, green bean and lanolin with a light floral note; medium-bodied, dry, crisp and elegant with gooseberry and green plum flavours; lovely mouth-feel. The barrel-fermented Semillon portion gives the wine a fullness on the palate. White Bordeaux in style. (91)

Pentâge Winery Gamay 2018 (Skaha Bench)
Bright ruby in colour; cherry and white pepper nose with a touch of oak spice; medium-bodied, dry, well-extracted, juicy, black plum and black cherry flavours carried on a lively spine of acidity; well-structured with just enough tannin to give the wine structure. (90)

Pentâge Winery GSM 2018 (Skaha Bench)
35% Grenache/35% Mourvèdre/30% Syrah. Cedary, blackberry and black licorice bouquet with a herbal note and oak spice; medium to full-bodied, dry with savoury black fruit flavours, mouth-freshening acidity and velvety tannins. (89)

A blend of Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, Cabriz. Cedary, plum and blackcurrant nose with oak spice and floral notes; medium to full-bodied, dry, raspberry flavour with well-integrated oak and lively acidity. (89)

Henry of Pelham Sauvignon Blanc 2020 (Niagara Peninsula, $14.95, LCBO #430546)
Very pale straw with a lime tint; grassy, citrus and gooseberry on the nose; medium to light-bodied, crisply dry, green plum and gooseberry flavours with fresh acidity and a clean, tart finish. Fine mouth-feel. (88.5)

Sacred Hill Chardonnay 2019 (Hawkes Bay, NZ, $18.95, Vintages #17563, to be released May 15th)
Medium straw colour; lightly toasty nose of Granny Smith apple with oak spice and a top note of white flowers; medium-bodied, dry, apple and pear flavours; beautifully balanced and long in the mouth. Great texture and a note of cashew nut on the finish. Great value. (91)

Reif Estate Vidal Icewine 2018 (Niagara River, 375 mL, $24.95, Vintages #544791)
Bronze-gold in colour; honey, melon, apple and burnt sugar on the nose; unctuous mouth-feel with flavours of barley sugar and orange marmalade carried on vivacious acidity. (93)
