Sunday, November 30th: Our A Cappella Niagara Chorus presented the annual Christmas show at the United Church in Font Hill, all wearing ugly Christmas sweaters.
Tuesday, December 2nd: Dinner at oddBird. Deborah and I had a dozen oysters between us and an artichoke risotto. Accompanied by a glass of Finca Martha Malbec 2019 from Mendoza.
Wednesday, December 3rd: A Cappella Niagara performed for the residents of two local retirement homes in St. Catharines – Royal Henley and Anchor Pointe.
Thursday, December 4th: Pan fried some cod fillets and served with a gorgeous bottle of On Seven Devotion Chardonnay 2020 (Niagara-on-the-Lake).
Friday, December 5th: Deborah made Chili con carne. I opened a bottle of Super Tuscan-style Hester Creek Undici 2022 from the Okanagan Valley. 61% Sangiovese, 19% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec.
Saturday, December 6th: The annual candlelight stroll in Port Dalhousie at which the A Cappella Niagara Chorus performs outdoors, with other musical guests strategically placed on balconies along the route. We sang in the St. John’s Church parking lot. After our set we went to a neighbour’s, who opened her house for an “Afterglow” party. Mulled wine, beer, wine, mini tourtieres, gravad lax, shrimp and dips and cookies. We sang there – for our supper.
