A Wine Lover’s Diary, part 935: Grapes for Humanity and a 90th Birthday

Geddy and Deborah

Wednesday, August 7th: Geddy Lee, a director of Grapes for Humanity, graciously lent us his garden in Rosedale for a cheque presentation ceremony to Tree Canada, Nature Conservancy and The Halo Trust from funds raised by our annual fine wine auction.

Thursday, August 8th: My sister Shirley turned 90 today and we celebrated with a large family lunch at One Restaurant in the Hazelton Hotel. Shirley’s three sons – David, Jeffrey and Mark – presented her with a donation to McGill’s library (she graduated with a degree in Library Science from McGill in 1955).

Deborah and I made a donation to the Hebrew University in her name (a favourite charity of our late father).
