Robert Oatley Signature Series Chardonnay 2016
The Late Robert Oatley founded the winery that bears his name in 2006 in Australia’s Margaret River Region. To honor his memory his children created a series of Signature wines in his name. Currently at Vintages is Robert Oatley Signature Series Chardonnay 2016. Pale straw in colour, the wine offers a spicy oak and ripe pineapple bouquet; it’s medium to full-bodied, slightly creamy on the palate with surprisingly fresh acidity on the finish. It costs $18.95 at Vintages outlets. Serve it with roast chicken or grilled fish. That’s Robert Oatley Signature Series Chardonnay from Australia. For Post City Magazines, I’m Tony Aspler, 680 NEWS. La Chablisienne Le Finage Chablis 2014
Chablis, the most northerly of Burgundy’s regions, produces wines that are like biting into a Granny Smith apple straight out of the fridge. Released a couple of weeks ago in Vintages outlets is La Chablisienne Le Finage Chablis 2014. Pale straw in colour, this inexpensive Chablis – inexpensive for a white Burgundy at $19.95 – has a minerally nose of green apple and lemon, flavours that are replicated on the palate. The wine has a lovely mouth-feel, a firm structure and a long lemony finish. Ideal for smoked salmon or sea food. That’s La Chablisienne Le Finage Chablis 2014 from Burgundy.
