Château du Grand Caumont Cuvée Tradition Corbières 2014
In France’s Languedoc-Roussillon region is an appellation called Corbières where they make bargain-priced red wines from Carignan, Syrah and Grenache. Château du Grand Caumont Cuvée Tradition Corbières 2014 is dense purple-black in colour – a testament to its richly extracted fruit flavour. It shows a spicy, herbal nose of blackberries. Medium-bodied and dry, it’s got a savoury taste of warm blackberries tinged with herbs and a lively acidic finish. It costs $13.95 at Vintages outlets and is worth every penny. Perfect for hamburgers or casseroles. That’s Château du Grand Caumont Cuvée Tradition Corbières 2014 from France at Vintages outlets. For Post City Magazines, I’m Tony Aspler, 680 NEWS. ($13.95, Vintages #540831) (90)

Temperamento Bobal 2014
Bobal is a Spanish grape native to the Utiel-Requena region in Valencia. Its dense purple-black colour gives you a visual sense of its concentration of fruit flavour. The spicy, cedary, sandalwood nose of plums and cherries has a delightful floral note that follows through on the palate. Medium-bodied and dry, it has a flavor of crushed blueberries and red flowers that fills the mouth, carried on fresh acidity to a firm, tannic finish. It costs $17.95 at Vintages outlets and works well with red meat dishes. That’s Temperamento Bobal 2014 from Spain. For Post City Magazines, I’m Tony Aspler, 680 NEWS. ($17.95, Vintages #545913) (90)
