M. Chapoutier Tournon Mathilda 2014 (Victoria, Australia)
$17.95 (Vintages #401398)
A blend of Viognier and Marsanne raised in stainless steel. Pale lime in colour with a spicy, waxy-oily-floral nose of peach and melon; medium-bodied, dry with a sweet peach flavour, finishing crisply. ****½ (89)
Food match: fish in cream sauce; pork

Rockway Vineyards Cabernet Merlot 2013 (Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment)
$16.95 (Vintages #370346)
Dense purple colour; cedary, black plum and blackcurrant nose backed by spicy oak; medium-bodied, dry, well-balanced, sweet plum and blackcurrant fruit. A well-made wine. **** (88.5)
Food match: lamb chops; steak

Lorca Selección Monastrell 2008 (Bullas, Spain)
$15.95 (Vintages #380238)
A blend of 70% Monastrell (a.k.a. Mourvèdre and Mataro) with 30% Syrah. Dense purple in colour; cedary, spicy black fruits on the nose; full-bodied, juicy and fruity, black plum flavour, firmly structured with lively acidity. **** (88.5)
